‘𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐝, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐝, 𝐰𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝.’

Have you ever doubted your doctor and not follow their advice? If yes, then this is the book that you have to read. It’s about stories of doctor-patient relationship, different unimaginable situations doctors face, their failures and successes and a lot more that makes us aware about our rights and duties as patients and give us a reason for why this relationship isn’t a one way street.

The book has stories 34 stories, each story encounters with the greatest and toughest moments of doctors from around the globe; the name of the patients in each stories has been changed. The title is perfect and cover is simple and classy. The language of the book is simple but it has some medical terms, which end up enhancing my vocabulary. At the end of each story, a ‘Do You Know’ section is there, which is informative and helpful.

“𝗗𝗢 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪: 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗸. 𝗔 𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲’𝘀 𝗽𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.”

Narration is vivid. In some stories, sometimes to make a concept clear and sometimes to show patient’s vision, some visuals are drawn by author Aparna; which I believe is a great idea. Also, at the end of the book, there’s a section dedicated to the rights, a patient and a doctor have; which make this book a must read for all.

This book is needed, looking at the current scenario of a doctor-patient relationship. Due to some who fail this profession, we should not let the whole industry suffer. The authors have done a great job in conveying this message with the help of this book. Thanks to SMA Reviews for the book, I loved it, and I recommend this book to all; everybody should read it once.
